The latest 2013 Kia Sorento SUV is announced and we like it for every reason possible. Though there are not many important changes, improved styling of the vehicle catches your attention.
The All New Sorento SUV for 2013
The new edition of the 5 passenger affordable SUV from the Korean auto maker has arrived and is most likely to create ample buzz in the auto fraternity. The modern appearance is something that will attract all the new SUV lovers. Let us take a look at how the new 2013 Kia Sorento SUV has come out.
Things that are strikingly apparent are new body color accents all around the body, newly styled 17 inch alloys and an enhanced front fascia. When you move to the top end SX, you also notice bigger 18 inch alloys, chromed exhausts, and LED tail lights.
The Well Equipped Cabin
On the inside, we see features like air conditioning, power windows and telescopic steering in the entry level variant. The very luring optional features included for the first time are UVO system for enhanced media experience and Convenience Plus Package that has a 8 way driver seat, first aid box, and leather coated steering; the next in line, EX gets standard dual zone auto climate control and leather seats. The top end SX sports all the features mentioned above and few more like scuff plates that are illuminated, heated seats, and stainless pedals.
The three engine choices available with the SUV are a 2.4liter 4-cylinder engine, which generates 175hp, a 2.4liter 4 cylinder direct injection, which churns out 191hp and a range topping 3.5liter V6 power-plant, which generates 276 hp. The SUV is configured either in front wheel drive or four wheel drive. All the engines are mated to a 6 speed auto transmission system. The 2.4liter engine helps the SUV to accelerate from 0-60mph in a commendable 9.5 seconds.
The SUV offers seating for 5 passengers and can also be bought in 7 passenger configuration. The net cargo room is 72.5 cu.ft.
The vehicle offers 21mpg on city roads and 29mpg on highways. This is better compared to some of its rivals like Hyundai Santa Fe, which offers 20mpg and 28mpg on city roads and highways respectively; having said that there are other rivals like Honda CRV that leave Sorento behind. CRV offers 23mpg on city roads and 31mpg on highways.
